Can Your Sports Bra Do This? Workout Clothing that Monitors Heart Rate

Victoria’s Secret is stepping up its game in the fitness fashion department. This fashion app developer is going to tell you about Victoria’s Secret Heart-Rate Monitor Compatible Sport Bra.

The new bra features wearable technology that allows you to clip your favorite heart monitor to the electrodes. Although it was was released without much hype, the Incredible Sports Bra could potentially be an exciting addition to any fitness fashionista’s wardrobe.

While Victoria’s Secret is well-known for their sexy lingerie and annual fashion show, the brand is no stranger to sports bras. The company’s catalogue features several sports bra styles that close in the front, have adjustable straps, a seamless design, and sweat resistant fabric.

The new Incredible Sports Bra has a detachable electrode located on the front. This electrode needs to be moistened prior to making contact with your skin in order to conduct a proper reading. It will then keep track of your heart rate while you’re working out.

The VS website describes the sports bra as one that is on the front lines of fitness and is “perfect for running, boxing, and high-impact workouts.”

The bra is available in two colors – Hello Lovely [pink] and Black Marl. It is made from Body-Wick fabric which repels sweat away from the body so you can enjoy a cool and comfortable workout.

According to WearablesInsider.com, Victoria’s Secret used technology from the Finnish clothing company, Clothing+, to develop the Incredible Sports Bra. The Incredible Sports Bra is available on the Victoria’s Secret website for $72.50 to $75.50, depending on cup size.

Smart clothing is becoming more and more of a trend. According to a Gartner report, this is just the beginning of what is to come. The report forecast that smart garments like the Ralph Lauren Polo Tech smart shirt and the Myontech shorts will one day overtake the fitness brands that dominate the market today.

“Because smart shirts and other smart garments can hold more sensors closer to the skin, they can collect more information and produce better data, like the full wave of the heart beat rather than just the pulse,” Gartner research director Angela McIntyre said.

With larger brands like Victoria’s Secret getting involved in the smart clothing market, we can most likely expect an increase in the production of smarter clothes in the near future.
