The Dos And Don’ts For Younger Looking Skin

The Dos And Don’ts For Younger Looking Skin

Most of us would give just about anything to turn back the clock and once again have that bright, fresh skin of our youth. Sadly we don’t have a time machine. So when it comes to making our skin look more youthful, our only option is knowing how to take care of it.

There are lots of simple things that we can do to make our skin look more youthful, such as investing in a good face cream. However, there are also some things that, if we want our skin to stay looking young, we shouldn’t do. To help you ensure that you’re doing all the right things to keep your skin look young for as long as possible, we have put together this handy guide.

DO wear sunscreen every day

The number one cause of early aging is sun damage; that’s why whenever you go outside you need to be wearing sunscreen. Many of us make the mistake of thinking that if the sun’s not out or it’s not warm, we don’t need to wear sun protection. However, that’s not the case; the damage isn’t caused by the sun, itself, but by its UV rays. These rays can penetrate your skin and cause damage even when it’s cloudy.

DON’T smoke

Smoking leads to wrinkles, pigmentation problems, and bad skin. The air that we live in is already polluted and can wreak havoc on our skin, don’t make it worse for yourself by smoking. Studies have shown that people who smoke are twice as likely to age prematurely. So do yourself a favor and quit now.

DO put a skin care routine in place

It might seem basic, but having a good skin care regime in place is one of the most important things you can do to help prevent aging. Every time that we sleep in our makeup, it damages our skin and makes it more prone to aging. For skin that looks as young as possible, you need to be removing your makeup every night by cleansing and toning. This should then be followed by using a face cream or your favorite anti-aging serum collection to hydrate your skin and protect it from aging.

DON’T eat unhealthy foods

As well as having an effect on your waistline, what you eat also impacts your skin. If you want to prevent early aging, it’s essential that you eat a diet that’s high in vitamins and low in fat and sugar. If you want to keep your skin looking youthful, foods containing omega-3 and antioxidants should be a big part of your diet. As should fruits and veggies that help to give your skin a bright, healthy glow.

DO drink lots of water

The most important of all for younger looking skin is to drink lots of water. If you want to keep your skin looking good, getting enough water is essential. When our skin starts to dehydrate, it becomes more prone to wrinkles, which is why it’s essential to drink as much water as possible. Ideally, you should aim to drink at least eight to ten glasses a day, to ensure that your skin is well hydrated at all times.

Want to keep your skin looking young for as long as possible? Then take note of the dos and don’ts above.
