5 Tips to vacationing in St. Tropez

When someone mentions St. Tropez, what is the first thing that enters your mind? It would probably be somewhere along the line of luxury, elegance and the like. This place, found in the south of France is, after all, a preferred getaway of the rich and famous.

If you are planning a family vacation or trip to this town, make sure to follow the tips below so that you can have the trip of a lifetime.

1.  Book a villa – while there are many five-star hotels that you can definitely book, why not feel like a local and rent a luxurious villa instead? You’ll get more privacy and you’ll have a beautiful house all for you and your travel companions. If you are planning to rent a villa, make sure to do so at the earliest possible time. Since this place is popular, you might not be able to book the villa you want if you wait too long. To make it easier you can actually ask for the assistance of a property consultant to show you some listings, and from there you can make your choice. Check out these St. Tropez luxury villas to see if any of them could be the one you are looking for.

2.  Enjoy and relax on the beach – a trip to this place is not complete without enjoying a relaxing day at their world-famous beaches. The most famous beach is Pampelonne. You’d probably find this familiar as this is where the celebrities and royalty spend their time when they are here. The problem with this place is that it can become too crowded, especially during the peak season. If you are not a fan of crowds, you can choose the less popular but no less beautiful places like de la Fontenette or Plages La Glaye.

3.  Hire a boat to take you around – if you want to escape the crowded beach but still want to enjoy the view of the ocean, then a boat tour is a perfect choice. It may be pricey but it is definitely worth it. A boat can eve take you around to the different tourist spots if you’d want to. If you want something a little more extreme, you can even try some water sports activities such as water ski, monoski or go snorkeling and diving instead.

4.  Visit the museums – if you are a fan of history and the arts, you can dedicate a day to visiting the different museums in the area. There’s Le Musee de l’Annonciade for some paintings of the Saint Tropez. You can also check out museums dedicated to the maritime history of the town and one museum even houses a collection of preserved butterflies.

5.  Go on a wine tour – there’s nothing like sipping a glass of wine while watching the sunset in this picturesque town. If you’re interested, there are wine tours being offered that will take you to the small villages around the area. You’ll get to see some great view after leaving the famous Pampelonne beach and have a little wine tasting at Ramatuelle.  Make sure to purchase a bottle or two that you can bring with you to your villa and share with your friends after a day of touring.
